This electronic index of birth registrations in the Canadian province of British Columbia was compiled by the British Columbia Vital Statistics Agency and the British Columbia Archives. The Vital Statistics Agency has released registrations of births that are at least 100 years old, in accordance with the Vital Statistics Act and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

The following information is provided in the index:

  • name
  • gender
  • birth date
  • birth place
  • registration number
  • British Columbia Archives (BCA) microfilm number
  • Genealogical Society of Utah (GSU) microfilm number
  • The index will only confirm the existence of a record on microfilm for the date listed.
