This database contains extracts of electoral rolls from the historic department of Seine, France from 1891. The department of Seine encompassed Paris and vicinity. Today it is divided into the departments of Paris, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, and Val-de-Marne.

About the Collection:

In 1974 Maurice Coutot, a prominent genealogist and heir researcher, founded a society called “Archives Fiduciaires et Documentaires” (ARFIDO). The society maintains a private archive of original records of genealogical importance. This database consists of a comprehensive extraction of the 1891 electoral rolls for the city of Paris and vicinity. It contains 650,000 total records. Women were ineligible to vote in France until 1945. Therefore, all records included in this database are for men.
