This collection contains membership lists, transfer documents, family registers, and meeting minutes from the Christian Reformed Church of America. Most records are in English, some are in Dutch, and a few are in German. Details in the registers vary but may include the following:

  • name
  • address
  • parents’ names
  • congregation
  • birth date
  • baptism date
  • children’s names (which may include birth, baptism, marriage, and similar data)
  • date of transfer from one congregation to another

The Christian Reformed Church (CRC) traces its theological roots back to the Protestant Reformation in the sixteenth century. A break with the Dutch Reformed Church led to the organization of the CRC in 1857 in Michigan.
