Northwest History and Men of Progress

This database contains a history of the Great Northwest with "Northwest" being the states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. It also contains biographical sketches and portraits of the more prominent and representative people of those states.

Historical works contain valuable information that can be a great addition to your genealogical research. Although historical works will generally not mention your ancestors specifically (unless they were prominent individuals in the community), they do provide information on the time and place in which your ancestors lived, which in turn will help you place your ancestors in a historical context.
